The Jeju Olle Trail at a glance
The Jeju Olle Trail is a network of marked walking routes around the island. The network counts 27 routes and 437 km in total. That count includes side routes and island routes, so it is not a list of 27 main trails of equal rank. Some stretches follow the coast, others cross fields behind stone walls or run through forest.
You walk one route at a time. Each has a start, a midpoint and an end, and you collect a stamp at each of the three points. A finished route earns a certificate, and the whole system works on your phone.
Olle fits well with a day built around the south or the east coast. If you would rather ride than walk, compare the Jeju day tours. For the weather to expect when you walk, read Jeju weather by month.

How the mobile stamp pass works
The pass lives in the Olle app.
| Feature | What it does | Why it helps |
|---|---|---|
| QR stamp | One stamp at the start, one at the midpoint, one at the end of each route | Shows which stretches you have walked |
| Certificate | Shown on your phone after a route is finished | No paper to carry |
| Position display | Marks where you are on the route | Shows you where you are on the route |
| Off-route warning | Alerts you when you leave the route | Catches wrong turns early |
| Info center search | Finds information centers | Helps when you need local advice |
For most walkers, the mobile pass is the simplest way to collect stamps. Install the app before you leave your room, charge your phone and check the route before you set out.

What the routes look like
Three kinds of scenery on one trail.
Coast
Some stretches follow the shoreline, with views over the sea and grassy paths along the edge. Wind is part of a coastal walk, so bring a layer even on a sunny day.
Fields and stone walls
Inland the trail passes fields divided by stone walls. Here the scenery changes from open sea to farmland.
Forest
Some routes run on forest tracks. Shade is welcome in summer, and shoes with good grip make sense after rain.
How to choose a section
No single stretch suits everyone.
Start near where you stay
A route that starts close to your hotel saves a transfer. If you have not chosen a base yet, see where to stay on Jeju.
Check the length in the app
The app shows each route before you commit. Pick one you can finish in daylight, with time for the return trip to your car or bus stop.
Plan the return
Decide how you get back from the end point before you set off, whether by bus, taxi or rental car.
Check the route status
Routes can be diverted or closed for a time. Check the current status in the app before you go, and do not assume that every route is open every day.
Before you walk
A short checklist for any route.
Phone and app
The stamps, the position display and the off-route warning all run on your phone. Install the app, then charge the phone fully before you start.
Water, food and layers
Bring water and something to eat. Pick up a meal at a market the evening before, for example the Maeil Olle Market in Seogwipo.
Daylight and the return
Start early enough to finish while it is light, and decide in advance how you will get back to your base.
Where to get help in Seogwipo
The operator is the Jeju Olle Foundation.
The foundation is at 22 Jungjeong-ro, Seogwipo, phone 064-762-2190. Do not count on set opening hours or a staffed visitor desk. Call or check the app before you make a trip only to ask a question.
