Things to do in Jeju in short
The most famous things to do in Jeju come from its volcanic origin. Hallasan, Seongsan Ilchulbong and the Geomunoreum lava tube system are part of the UNESCO site listed in 2007. Around them you find the island of Udo, waterfalls in Seogwipo, beaches on the coast, walking routes and a food scene built on black pork and seafood.
Distances on the island are real, so pick one area per day. If you prefer not to drive, guided Jeju day tours from Jeju City combine several stops in one day. All prices below are for 2026 and change.

Volcano, coast and caves
The sights most visitors put first.
Hallasan
At 1,950 m, the highest mountain in South Korea. The summit sections to the crater lake Baengnokdam need a reservation, while trails such as Eorimok and Yeongsil need no summit booking. Entry is free.
Hallasan hike โSeongsan Ilchulbong
The tuff cone on the east coast. Admission is KRW 5,000 for adults and KRW 2,500 for youths and children. It is closed on the first Monday of each month. The sunrise is a popular reason to go, but the hours decide whether you can be on the cone at dawn.
Seongsan Ilchulbong โUdo
A small island reached by ferry from Seongsan. The crossing takes about 15 minutes, with sailings normally every 30 minutes. A round trip including island fees costs KRW 10,500 for adults. Bring your ID, as a boarding form is required.
Udo Island โManjanggul Cave
The lava tube reopened in May 2026. Of about 7.4 km, only 1 km from entrance 2 is open. Admission is KRW 4,000 for adults, and the cave is closed on the first Wednesday of the month. Wear sturdy shoes and a warm jacket.
Manjanggul Cave โThree waterfalls, three tickets
Adult prices in 2026. Each site has its own entry.
| Waterfall | Adult price | Opening hours | Last entry |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cheonjiyeon, Seogwipo | KRW 2,000 | 09:00 to 22:00 | 21:20 |
| Jeongbang, Seogwipo coast | KRW 2,000 | 09:00 to 17:50 | 17:30 |
| Cheonjeyeon, Jungmun | KRW 2,500 | 09:00 to 17:50 | 17:10 |
Children up to 6 years and visitors aged 65 and over are free, with proof of age. Jeongbang is reached by a staircase of about 5 minutes from the car park, so it is not step-free. For most visitors, Cheonjiyeon is the easiest to fit into an evening in Seogwipo, because it stays open until 22:00. More on the waterfalls page.

Things to do in Jeju: frequently asked questions
What should I do first on Jeju?
That depends on your days. With one day, many visitors choose the east: Seongsan Ilchulbong and Manjanggul Cave. With a rental car or a guided trip you can add the south. The itinerary page sets out routes and time budgets.
Is there one ticket for all the waterfalls?
No. Cheonjiyeon, Jeongbang and Cheonjeyeon each sell their own entry, at KRW 2,000, KRW 2,000 and KRW 2,500 for adults in 2026.
Is Manjanggul Cave open?
Yes, it reopened in May 2026. It is open 09:00 to 18:00 and closed on the first Wednesday of the month. Check the current last-entry time before you go.
Can I do Hallasan and other sights on the same day?
Not comfortably. The Seongpanak climb alone takes 4.5 hours one way. Plan Hallasan as its own day. See the Hallasan page.
Are all Jeju beaches part of the World Heritage site?
No. The listed site covers the Hallasan Natural Reserve, Seongsan Ilchulbong and the Geomunoreum lava tube system, not every beach or landscape on the island.
